And the scene-to-scene pacing is patient enough to establish the importance of certain key plot points and character dynamics. And the menagerie of computer-generated monsters, which includes talking dummies and sentient jack-o'-lanterns, are slick-looking.

Goosebumpswas pitched at a slightly older audience and threw in a few bones for adults,but the end game was similar. The release of a Goosebumps sequel along with TheHouse with a Clock in Its Walls is going to make this autumn a Jack Blackbonanza.
